Versi di Luce - Modica 2025

In the heart of Modica, among Baroque streets and golden stone that turns to light at sunset, the Modica section of Versi di Luce – International CinemaPoetry Festival comes to life.
Five intense days of meetings, screenings, book presentations, excursions and convivial moments transform the city into a laboratory of emotions and perspectives, where the poetic word intertwines with the language of cinema and the voice of the land.

The programme features screenings of the films in competition – feature films, fiction shorts, video art works and poetic music videos from all over the world – alongside a selection of films out of competition that enrich the Festival’s artistic dialogue with premieres, tributes and auteur visions.

Alongside cinema, there is room for the poetry and photography competitions, which give voice and image to the languages of the present day: the selected poets and photographers will take centre stage in meetings, readings and exhibitions.

The Festival also hosts book presentations, the VersiTalk sessions – conversations between directors, poets, scholars and the audience – and urban excursions, designed to discover Quasimodo’s city through its most evocative corners.
To round off the experience, tastings of local produce, Modica IGP chocolate and much more will offer the public a convivial opportunity to meet the Festival’s guests, in the spirit of light and shared beauty.

Modica, with its churches and alleyways opening onto the Baroque, thus becomes a living, welcoming stage: a place where cinema, poetry, photography and flavours come together to convey the magic of seeing and feeling.
