L'Etre fil

Synopsis
Elvire and Monique are sisters. They attend a ball that their uncle holds every autumn, which brings them back home. As they give themselves over to this joyful celebration of the occasion, they suffer from loneliness and unspoken truths.
Monique's face is frozen in its usual rictus, and Elvire seems pervaded by an unfathomable melancholy. But Fate soon leads them to realise what is about to collapse like a house of cards.
A poetic work of fiction that integrates photography and pixilation into its mise en scène.

Adele Poiré
Adèle Poiré studied film and literature at the University of Lyon (France), before qualifying as a camera operator at ESRA in Paris.
She works as an independent artist and director, mainly in the field of music videos, combining her directing work with live performance as an actress and storyteller.
Her filmmaking centres on poetic research and on the creative dialogue between sound and image, with the aim of capturing moments of being, deepening perception through processes of sublimation and working with sensation.
Her first student documentary short film, Ombre nue, was screened at several festivals, including those in Lyon.
Passionate about cinema and photography, she was hosted by the Ad Libitum restoration workshop to recover her family’s collection of photographs on glass plates, which also includes autochromes. These deeply intimate and personal archive images inspired the writing of L’Être-fil, her first medium-length fiction film.
Also drawn to animation, Adèle Poiré incorporates some of its techniques into her work to broaden its expressive possibilities and create new perceptions of time. She enjoys mixing and experimenting with different tones and registers, giving shape to both the playful and the spiritual dimensions of artistic creation.
